I am a consistent mover. I recently moved from Annapolis to Reston area, and I really wasn’t sure who to use to help me move. I went online and I found Reston Moving company. So glad I found them and hired them to help me relocate to my new house. Their quote was really affordable. The movers were very professional and they moved me to my new house quickly as they promised. They were careful and they worked without stopping for a break. I’ve already started recommending them to my friends and relatives.

Recently I used Reston Moving for my cross-country move. I have to tell you they were great. They even let me store my stuff at their facility until I found my new apartment. Few days after I got my apartment, I called Reston Moving and they had my stuff on the truck the next day, and they got everything unloaded quickly. They saved me a lot of time and stress. I would recommend them to anyone.

Over the last 2years, I have moved 4times and I have never had such a relaxing move. A couple of months ago I moved from Baltimore to Bristow and I used Reston Moving Company. They were so helpful from the beginning of the move until the end, making the whole moving process smooth. The best part was they were able to finish the job a little early. Great move!

Movers Reston Moving Tips

3 weeks before Movers Reston moving:

  • Walk through your home/office space, (include the attic, garage, storage space etc.) to determine what items you will be shipping.
  • Start setting aside any items you do not want to take with you.  A couple of great ways to get rid of these items are to hold a garage sale or donate them to your local Goodwill or Salvation Army.  Remember that reducing your shipment size will reduce your moving costs.
  • Make a list of what you are bringing with you in your personal vehicle or suitcase.
  • Figure out the replacement value of all your belongings for insurance purposes.
  • Find out where to dispose of household chemicals like old paint, and start getting those items together so they can be disposed of properly prior to your move.
  • If you’re moving out of state, make sure you find out about auto licensing and insurance
  • If you’re moving in-state, make sure you schedule an appointment with the DMV so you can change your address on your driver’s license.
  • If you’re moving out-of-state, be sure to check the requirements of your new location to determine their guidelines for obtaining a license in that state.
  • If pertinent, make sure to notify your kids’ schools and have their records transferred to their new schools
  • Make any necessary hotel and airline reservations

Movers Reston Help Tools

Movers Reston Moving Hints:
• Start early- Almost everyone has more stuff than they think they do, and almost no one leaves enough time to pack it.

• Room Lists- Start by forming two room lists, one for your current place and one for your future place. This will help you manage what has to go where.

• Room Inventory- Go to each room and write down the types of things that need to be packed: furniture items, length of shelving, closets, etc.

• Time Allotment- Make sure to leave enough time. The most common timeframe reported by people moving is that it takes a month to pack. One study reported that it takes 4-5 hours to pack an average dorm room, so that should give you an idea of what’s involved.
